Meet Dr. Tasha Wilson, Veterinarian
Owner & Operator of Acupetvet

Read about Dr. Tasha Wilson’s involvement with NOMV and the Seacoast New England chapter she helped to form.

From an early age, Dr. Tasha Wilson, DVM, CVMA, CCRT, knew she wanted to dedicate her life to caring for animals. She earned her Bachelor of Science from St. Anselm College in New Hampshire and graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island, Canada, in 2005.

Dr. Wilson began her career in general veterinary practice, where she built a strong foundation in conventional medicine. Over time, she recognized that many pets—especially aging, chronic-care, and post-injury patients—benefit from a more integrative approach that expands treatment options beyond traditional care alone.

She has advanced training in medical acupuncture and veterinary rehabilitation therapy, allowing her to combine evidence-based techniques to help manage pain, improve mobility, and enhance quality of life. Dr. Wilson also has extensive knowledge of nutrition and joint supplements, and frequently guides families on supportive options for arthritis, mobility challenges, and senior pets.

“If I would have recommended it for my own pet, why would I not offer it to my patients? It’s a great tool to help control pain, and other ailments in pets”.

“My goal is to provide thoughtful, individualized care that supports comfort, function, and long-term wellbeing.”

After two years of operating a mobile veterinary acupuncture practice, Dr. Wilson opened a brick-and-mortar clinic in Somersworth, New Hampshire, in 2018. In 2022, she and her husband, Ken Wilson, built the permanent Acupetvet home in Dover, New Hampshire.

At Acupetvet, care extends beyond treatment modalities. Dr. Wilson intentionally designed the clinic to feel calm and welcoming, knowing that veterinary visits can be stressful for some pets. Treatment rooms resemble living spaces, with soft bedding and natural light—allowing pets to relax while receiving care in a supportive, low-stress environment.

“Veterinary visits can be overwhelming for some pets, so I intentionally designed our clinic to feel calm, fear-free, and unhurried. From dog beds in the lobby to treatment rooms that feel more like a living room, every detail is meant to help pets relax. Dogs settle into soft beds, while cats often rest on a comfortable ottoman, basking in natural light during their care.”
